William Duncan, PhD
William Duncan, PhD, Chief Operating and Scientific Officer, brings over 25 years of research expertise, including 17 years at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institute of Health. In addition, he served at the National Cancer Institute of Canada. Dr. Duncan began his work at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Southwestern Medical School in immunology, which led him to the School of Medicine at Dalhousie University in Canada, where he established a research program in transplantation immunology. Dr. Duncan assists investigators in grant preparation and facilitates linkages with investigators across BHCS.

To support his research over the years, Dr. Duncan has received $1,382,500.00 in grant support as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator on numerous research projects.

In recognition of superb leadership and exceptional initiative in developing and carrying out the scientific program of the Treatment Research Program, Dr. Duncan was awarded the National Institutes of Health Director's Award in 1995. Shortly following, he received the Department of Health and Human Services Secretary's Award in 1997 for his vision and leadership in the development and management of a comprehensive program in AIDS therapeutics research.
